Our SWE Space Coast section strives to advance and honor the contributions of local women at all stages of their careers, and to recognize the successes of individuals who enhance the engineering profession through contributions to the industry, education, and the community. Apply here:

How to apply: 

Step 1: Download PDF form linked below and complete. Rename file title with last name of nominee and save.

Step 2: Email completed copy of PDF form, resume, and letter(s) of recommendation to awards@swespacecoast.org.

The deadline for award nominations is March 13, 2026 at 11:59PM EST.

The Space Coast Section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) strives to recognize the success of SWE members and individuals in our community who enhance the engineering profession through contributions to the industry, education, and community. Nominations for these prestigious awards are being solicited from Space Coast engineering companies, government agencies, technical organizations, and members of our SWE Space Coast section. Each company/organization may nominate up to three individuals for each category. SWE Space Coast section members may self-nominate. Award winners will be announced at the SWE Space Coast Awards Banquet. All nominators are highly encouraged to attend. Additional banquet details will be posted on www.swespacecoast.org when available.

Information on Awards Banquet Registration

The criteria for the awards are:

Space Coast Distinguished New Woman Engineer

  • Demonstrated outstanding performance in engineering
  • Active in professional, technical, community, or social organizations
  • No more than 7 years cumulative engineering experience
  • Resided or worked in the Space Coast Area (Brevard, Volusia, Indian River Counties)

Space Coast Outstanding Woman Engineer Award

  • Demonstrated a high level of competence, leadership and personal integrity in her profession
  • Contributed personally to her company or organization’s progress toward their mission(s)
  • Mentored or has helped other women engineers develop their potential in the engineering profession
  • Significantly contributed to the enhancement of women’s status on the job or in the community
  • Minimum of 7 years cumulative engineering experience
  • Resided or worked in the Space Coast Area (Brevard, Volusia, Indian River Counties)

Space Coast Woman Engineer Technical Achievement Award

  • Demonstrated a high level of competence, leadership and personal integrity in her profession
  • Has demonstrated outstanding technical excellence as an individual resulting in significant technical accomplishments
  • Minimum of 5 years cumulative engineering experience
  • Resided or worked in the Space Coast Area (Brevard, Volusia, Indian River Counties)

All required information must be submitted electronically by 11:59 PM on March 13, 2026.
