- Participate in 5 hands on projects.
This outreach program is open to all girls in 7th through 10th grades (public school, private school, home school etc.). Please see Introducing Girls to Engineering Workshop (IGEW) for our younger friends.
When you register you will select your top 8 choices for workshop projects (see below list) and be assigned to 5 of them. Note: If the number of attendees is under 100 some work shop activities may be cut.
You can also specify a “buddy” to be partnered with but both girls must be registered and select the same projects in the same order. Note: There is no grantee that more than 2 buddies will be in the same set of workshops at the same time.

Time: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Cost: $35.00 includes lunch, drinks, snack, shirt and all supplies
Registration fee can be waived for students who receive free or reduced lunch or have an economic need. Apply here for the waiver before registering. You still must register once you have been approved for a Fee Waiver.

| 1A. It’s Da Bomb | Become a Chemical Engineer or Quality Engineer while formulating your Bath bomb in the mad scientist lab. |
| 1B. Sink or Swim | Learn about the engineering design process and the physical principles of buoyancy and displacement by working together to build a boat. |
| 1C. Take Flight | Become an Aeronautical Engineer or maybe a pilot, What type of airplane will you design? Will it go the farthest or do the best tricks? Can you land it with ease? |
| 1D. Getting Medieval | Fun with physics and engineering like energy transformation, trajectory, and structural strength. |
| 1E. Minute to Win It | Test your skills with our 60 second challenges that use objects that are commonly available around the house. |
| 1F. Duct Tape Creations | Engineering comes alive with handmade creations that can be transformed from one thing to another all using duct tape while you make wallets and other creations. |
| 1G. CSI | Become a Crime Scene Investigator. Look at finger prints and match it to find the “culprit.” Or look at shoe prints for your group and learn how to identify the suspect. |
| 1H. Binary Code Putt Putt | Learn about Binary Code, the basic instruction for computer processing. Then put your Putt Putt skills to the test. |
| 1I. Seismic Shake-Up! | Become a Civil Engineer and create and test structures against vibration. Will it withstand an Erath quake or a rocket launch? |
| 1J. Design a Dessert | Find out what a design engineer does as you design and construct a dessert for your customer. |
