Joy Marsalla
Joy Marsalla joined SWE as a freshman at Arizona State University, and has served as a Board member and volunteer every year since! Joy is a connector, who defines her “why” as “creating sustainable, efficient solutions to complex problems by bridging science & the human essence to protect our planet & humankind”. She is a professional environmental engineer, a LEED Green Associate and a Registered Yoga Teacher. Joy is the Sustainability Lead at Lam Research, led Chemistry & Air Emissions at Nike where she wrote these standards across the Footwear & Apparel Industry, and previously managed the environmental risk program and led environmental modeling work at Intel. This year, her goal for the SWE Columbia River Section is to support our members to receive the recognition they deserve through individual and group awards and leadership opportunities.
Data Officer
Coral Jean Cotterell
Coral Jean is a senior member of SWE and has been a member since February 1981. She continues to be active in SWE because of the STEM Outreach opportunities. She thinks that it is important to introduce children to STEM. Currently she is responsible for maintaining the section database. She is a retired Process Control Engineer with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Her first college degree is in Biology (Microbial Genetics). She worked in cancer research at the Primate Center in Aloha for several years before returning to school to obtain an engineering degree.

Jennifer Baradwaj
Jenny is a process engineer at Intel in the Logic Technology Development group. She has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. Jenny previously helped serve on the SWE CRS board for Outreach in FY22 and continues to be involved in STEM outreach in the Portland area. She is looking forward to connecting further with the Portland SWE community by serving as the new M&G coordinator for the Portland downtown area. She lives in NW Portland with her husband and cat. She loves hiking, traveling, and exploring new Portland restaurants.

Keyla Bastardo
Keyla is a Product Technology Development Engineer at Intel. She is responsible for DFM and board assembly process development of cutting-edge board technology for customers within Intel. Keyla joined Intel in 2018 as Process Engineer and since then she has been working in different expertise areas of board assembly technology. She holds a M.S. in Manufacturing and Mechanical Systems Integration and Project Management Certification from Rochester Institute of Technology. Keyla loves traveling, learning new languages, and connecting with people of different backgrounds. She also enjoys hiking and camping in the beautiful PNW.

Scholarship Chair
Position open!
Work with the President to plan and prepare scope of scholarships for the fiscal year. Collaborate with the leadership team to seek updates to the endowed scholarships. Create a form for collegiate SWE members to intake the scholarship applications. Review scholarship applications to determine eligibility. If needed, assemble a review team to standardize scholarship review & approval. Work with the treasurer to distribute money to the school of the winner(s). Write a blurb in the newsletter to announce the winner.
Fundraising Chair

The Fundraising Chair strives to generate funds by designing and selling apparel and other merchandise sales. Funds are to be applied towards Scholarships, Professional Development Events, or Outreach Activities.
Corporate Sponsorship Chair
Position Open!
Develop a Corporate Sponsorship Packet with varying available sponsorship levels. Contact companies to find section sponsors. Serve as the liaison with corporate sponsors.
